The picture is a TCU which is BT phone only. For BT audio you need a MULF2 HI + Tune2air or Combox which requires iDrive.
Run your vin to see what options you have https://www.bmwvin.com/ |

You can't just add a wire and be done. We will need to see the options your car has to answer any more questions. A TCU is also used for BMW assist/SOS so if you only have that option and not Bluetooth, you may need to add other missing components (BT antenna, microphone and possibly wiring) and then code car to enable those options.

by VIN decoding your car have bmw assist and voice control so it definitely have mic with wire
so you have two options, add only bluetooth antenna with wire to this module and code bluetooth handsfree option or replace this module with combox and add same wire and usb wiring if you want combox features(bluetooth handsfree, bluetooth streaming, usb audio, multiple bluetooth devices support) to use combox you'll also need software upgrade for you navigation professional if your car was not software updated by dealer after it was sold to first owner

Adding a bluetooth antenna takes about 10 min and 30 bucks. OEM the antenna is installed under the dash I believe driver side but you can just plug it directly into the MULF in your trunk. The bluetooth range is fine. No wiring should be needed. Then just hide it. That is what I did.

You might consider the above as an alternative you get usb and bluetooth streaming as well as phone. This avoids the crappy BMW aux input. Last edited by ctuna; 06-01-2018 at 03:27 PM.. |

The cheapest and easiest way to add BT to these cars is the Kinovo Bluetooth adapter. You can do call and music audio, or choose to just do music thru it and leave the phone function up to your car. It's small and discreet, I have my controller run thru the parking brake boot and down by my right leg for changing tracks and pausing, plus it powers up and connects automatically when you start the car. I know this is not quite the answer you're looking for, but its a quick and easy solution.

Wish I would have known they had generic Bluetooth antenna that would fit the MULF before I bought OEM BMW. I paid about 30 bucks from BMW. |

Just let your OCD kick in and know you are factory. Normally I recommend the OEM antenna one however OP does not have the wiring.

You move the 10 or so pins from your TCU connector to the Combox connector based on the chart in the attachment. Not all cars have all the wires so just ignore what you don't have. Get the bluetooth antenna posted above. Code and you are done. |
