330ix - need opinion

I have oportunity to buy great car 2006 330ix. Only problem is that it is all wheel drive which I do not like. It is heavier more gas etc.
What is your take on this? Is aw that bad or maybe even worth it?

Thanks.

You live in Houston? How much wintry weather do you get?

Might be worth it if you experience quite a bit of snow through out the winter. RWD with a set of good snow tires does it for me for Chicago winters.

I think the 330xi is an excellent car. It's great in the snow and even better in the dry. But, if you don't like AWD, then I recommend you test drive one first. Also, if you are planning on doing a lot of modding, then it can get expensive in the suspension department and a lot of stuff available for the i is not available for the xi.

I have a 330xi here in the Northeast, I'd never get one in Houston. You should hold out for a 330i down there.

Don't know how much rain you get in Houston, but AWD is great when roads are slippery. I like the added layer of security provided by the AWD system, then again I came from a tail-happy 1st gen G35.
