anybody running one of these remote mount turbo kits on there n52?

thats going to be a lot of turbo lag for a small 3.0L engine. rear mount turbos tend to work better on high displacement engines. Thats why you see a lot of rear mount turbos on vettes.

Also 335i's are cheaper enough, where it would still be cheaper for you just to get a 335i.

i guess its worth a shot if you want to be really different.

IMO, your time and money is better spent getting a 335 and going from there if you want a turbo.

He's working with what he has, it's a thing people do. Sorry to say though, remote mount kits don't seem to perform well for very many people. Mostly just the people who sell them as far as I can see.

mechanically it should be easy. Problem he'll run into is tuning it. I dont know if the stand lone ecu for the n54 or mhd would work for the n52 ecu. he could probably use a piggy back to trick the stock ecu for awhile but at that point your just re-engineering the car.
