No Start or Crank

2007 335i 6MT with 157k miles. Battery is confirmed good. When the starter button is pushed I get 5 to 6 clicks about 1/2 seconds apart then it stops. I am assuming I have a bad starter, it is the original. I am also assuming that the clicks are the computer sending a start signal to the relay and when it doesn't detect the engine rotating it resends the command. After some amount of tries, it aborts the start attempt. Does that sound correct? Thanks.

Sounds like the starter for sure... I had this issue a few months ago

Runs from motor to chassis.

I took it to a battery shop and they tested it. I suspect they were correct because they had the option to sell me a new battery right then and there.

Has anyone ever replaced the starter relay? What were the symptoms? I have attached a picture.

Solved

Ctuna was correct. It was the ground strap on the driver's side. It crumbled in my hand.
