A halogen headlight (reflector) assembly is only $136 a side on Rockauto. The projector xenons are $550 a side on Rockauto.
Obviously this is a huge difference, so I was wondering if you can put halogen headlight assembly onto one that came with Xenons. 2006 325i had standard halogens while the 330i had xenons. So theoretically it should be plug and play? My friend had a front end collision on his 06 330i the other day. We're looking to DIY the repairs.

It can be done, but it will involve a few working hours from both of you, and 2 wires (1 from each headlight, 1.5 mm) from headlights to FRM, as halogen headlight has one more large consumer, than xenon fitted headlights(high beam bulb). Other than that, everything will work fine. PM me if you want to know what pins to remove from FRM, and where to put the new ones, if you decide to do this. |
