Big question keep original M2 or go for the comp
Big question
I was in 2 minds when the M2C was released, as the days go by and think about my M2 I smile and I know the comp is not for me. The only true change I like is the 3 splits on the lower scoop and the mirrors .

Definitely not changing mine because to me it’s not special enough, for me to change it would have to be limited to 500 like the 1m

An easy one for me financially not going to make sense with the cost to change. Would rather spend some additional money on mine as and when. I console myself in the fact that I have a 5 year service pack not now offered (I think) and lower road tax as you will have the one off cost and the additional £300ish/ year penalty for vehicle cost. Which is pretty much my annual insurance cost.
I already have carbon M style mirrors, splitter etc and exhaust so just some suspension changes and best will in the world looking at the performance dials on the road rarely access the 365bhp anyway as I like my license. Love what I have and used to having cars for many years to get maximum value from them so used to not driving the latest next best thing. Last car I had 10 years loved every minute. See myself keeping my current M2. Great for those who have wanted an M2 and not jumped or are in the market for a new M car as I would have one over the M3/4 Competition noting the price difference. |

No, not changing. I wanted the M2 Competition from the outset 2 years ago but needed to change cars early 2018 and couldn't wait an extra 7 months.
Will console myself that I can put a few thousand miles on my M2 LCI during the summer and M2 Comp owners will get their car just in time for Winter. That sealed it for my order. |

Why do you think the M2 Comp is more "special" then the original M2's? |

Am I getting one? No. Do I care? No. But on paper yes the M2 comp is more “special” than the N55 M2. I’m just thinking of the entire spec sheet to start with. Im going to take a wild guess and say it’ll be so fast around a track, magazines will love it, and it’ll make the most buzz for M. Call me out on that if I’m wrong about anything once those details flow in. Happy to admit defeat. Another question for you...do you think your lci is more special than a 2016-17? |

I know you wasn't asking me but I realise my car is less special. I have an LCI and I love it. But if I could have had a M2C I would. Well, I could if I wanted but I don't want to give BMW any more money...at the moment. I'd like to say never but in a few years time I'll probably feel different.
I prefer the new front, m mirrors, m seats, sunset orange. The N55 seems to be a great engine but at the end of it's life span. You could get a lot more out of the S55. I sat beside a new Audi A3 RS the other day and man, that engine sounds sweet. Just a shame their cars look so conservative. |

My dealer emailed me the other day and asked if I wanted to come in and chat about the M2C, I told him I was coming Monday to have my MPE replaced so I will see him then. Got into my jaw ache this morning and set it to sport with the valves open and it bubbled, popped and cracked (amazing sound) so the answer is definitely keeping the original M2

Pretty sure I will stick with my LCI got some m performance parts planned to get some more carbon in the mix. Have they now officially stopped selling the LCI now that the competition pack has been announced?

I don't think I would be in a hurry to change if I owned one of the current models.
Having said that I do like the M2c and do have a deposit down. My only real disappointment is I much prefer the noise the N55 makes and I currently have an M4...

I'll be sticking with my LCI, cost to change now would be quite frightening. I've only done 3k miles so far and a quick enquiry suggested dealers offering low £30k's means it'd just not be justifiable for me.
Besides I'm such a crap driver I dont need 40hp more, I'll have the less power and better sound track |
