VRSF Catless Downpipe question

Is anyone here running this downpipe? Any idea if the JB4 alone will supress the CEL or if I'd need a spacer (done that on my old N20 and it worked). Also, any issues with fuel limit etc? Read various threads some people are having problems with running downpipe safely on stock car with just JB4 and intake.

P.S: I do run 93 octane, seen some people experiencing problems are running 91

I just got the ER catless and I only run 93 with no issues. I have Jb4 but it's been off the entire time and I have a spacer so no CEL (yet). I think there are some throttle closure issues, I need to still log, but that can apparently be fixed with EWG wires which are on my list once I get my car finished with the current mods. It's not really an "issue" and you can still run it fine, but ideally, you don't want throttle closures obviously.

I'm really the wrong guy to explain it as I don't even understand it.

I hope someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the DME basically just closes the throttle because it senses more boost than it should have and so you end up with less power. Take this response with a grain of salt lol I still need to Google it.

Its our most popular DP, no issues.

You will need a flash tune or spacer for the CEL code

Will it smoke with catless downpipe? The smell isn't the issue for me, but the black smoke out of the tips I'm not fan of it.

Downpipes do not cause a smoke ... If your turbo is bad then you will see the smoke.
Reason why you dont see it with stock ones is because it gets trapped in the stock cats.

I don't get it? I had a M2 with Wagner Catless downpipe. And it smoked when I pushed the pedal hard.

You have an open exhaust so you will have the smell off course and the smoke when you pull hard on the pedal.. Right?

You only get black smoke if you are running very rich. If you put a catless downpipe on a rich running car, you might see black smoke as the excess fuel/carbon was previously being burned in the cat. A well tuned car with an open downpipe will NOT have black smoke.
