Has anyone had the 1200 mile service done?

My dealer is saying that because the car is so new the new differential oil that BMW uses is not in stock and they have to contact BMWNA to receive it. Anyone run into this issue yet?

These Los Angeles area BMW dealers are a joke. My service advisor said that they cant do the 1200 mile service because they do not have the diff fluid, cant change the oil without changing the diff fluid at this service and " I cant unlock (power) the car without performing the service"
- Also could not fix the front brake grinding noise of the pads since he did not have the correct parts
- Also could not diagnose the heat from underneath the car because the foreman is not familiar enough with the new M5.

Can anyone recommend a good dealership in Los Angeles for service ?

How does a dealership sell you a car and not have the oil for the compulsory 1,200 mile service.

To be fair they did not sell me my car however they did sell another car they had and this is not a mom and pop shop either. It is one of the largest highest volume dealership in CA.

Contact Tony Cardenas at Sterling BMW in Newport Beach. He takes good care of my 550i. I understand that this is not close, but you asked! Long Beach BMW would also be in the area for you.

Good Luck!

PS: are you still receiving a '19 E63s to replace your '18?

Thank you, Those are both very far as the Valley would be closer to me than Long Beach... but I did ask!

Yes, still planning on getting the E63s.

Went to dealer for 1200 mile service yesterday in NJ and ran into the same issue. Won't have the differential oil for a week. This really worked against my plan of getting to 1200 miles asap so i can open her up. Pissed. Poor planning by BMW on a high end model is really inexcusable.
