Need Help on Detailing my New m3!
I am going to pick up the new baby tomorrow and would like some advice on what products to use on the new M. In the past I used P21s auto shampoo and wheel cleaner on my old e46 and the porsche I just sold. Seemed to work well. For wax I used the Zymol paint cleaner then their carbon carnauba wax. For the leather I used Lexol with good results. Can anyone recommend any other products that they think are better or have had good results with? THe car is a weekend driver so I won't need to be cleaning the paint all of the time. It will be in the garage during most of the work week. Thanks for your help!

jetseal 109 and 50/50 wax ... awesome stuff. Not so fond on their leather cleaner/conditioner ... I like zaino Z9 and Z10 better (not so much the smell, but the way the leather feels after ... less greasy). Browse on e90post for a lot of this discussion ... it's kind of dead in the M forum for the time being.

Ditto on Jetseal and 5050. I used the CG leather conditioner and it was great. It is a tad greasy but it soaks in and you have to use it in proper amounts. Car smells awesome now.

Ya I tried both CG and Zaino and prefer the Zaino. After you wipe off the excess it looks and feels just like new. 0 grease effect.

use p21s wax. it is so easy to put on and off and looks just as good as any of the other crap out there. P21S is the only thing you need.......

Visit the E90 forum to make sure your wash techniques are up-to-date, as that is one of the main issues that can cause swirls. On a white M3, I'd go with the P21S 100%.

Jet Seal?
At what step in the process do I Jet Seal? Does Jet Seal make the paint harder and less susceptible to stone chips? Is the following correct or sound good?
(1) Paint Cleaner/polish (Why would I claybar a new car?) (2) JetSeal (3) Wax Thanks! |

What I did:
- wash - clay bar (you need to clay bar to remove wax and contaminants) - rinse w/ alcohol/water 50/50 solution - 2 coats jet seal over 24 hours to cure - 1 coat 5050 I don't think you need to polish a new car.

I'm a Zaino guy... the steps are thus:
Wash w/ Dawn (removes any waxes) Clay with Zaino Wash solution as lubricant Wash again to get lubricant residue off Since your car is white, then: 1 coat Z2 with ZFX, buff off with microfiber cloth and Z6 spray Repeat that Zaino CS coat Z8 spray for the final gloss.

or....... save two days and use p21s. As i have said before zaino is like a religion so please don't burn down my house for saying this but p21s is just as good as any of these sealers. plus there is zero room for error. you don't need to polish a new car unless you have waterspots.

since my car is not a daily driver I'm going to save some of my very rare spare time and just wash with p21S every week, spray with Chemical Guys hand detail carnauba spray every 2 weeks after wash, and then every 3-4 months use zymol hd cleanse then p21s wax. I appreciate the guys that spend the time to zaino the car, but I just don't have the time. My wife will kill me if I spend 20 hours working on the car.
Thanks for all the tips! |

For leather, the best products are leatherique and leather masters. For wax, another vote for p21s 100% carnauba. check this out for the review http://www.caymanclub.net/cayman-car...ax-review.html

I have an AW 08 e92 M3.
I am going to pull the trigger on the P21s 100% Carnauba Wax, but I was wondering if I really need to clay the car first? The car lives in a garage and it only has 40 miles on it. I was simply planning on a wash, dry, then use the P21s. Thanks! |

Guys, With the proper prep, I fully agree P21S looks very warm and very wet. However, I feel obligated to let you guys know that P21S does NOT last at all. You iwll get one week tops in terms of durability. If you must purchase P21S carnauba wax, please purchase the grey top. Otherwise this blue top can be had for $15.95 at your local Harley Davidson store as S100 Carnauba Wax. It is the exact smae shit just rebranding. The grey top is supposedly a new formula lasts longer. Either way, I STRONGLY suggest a sealant as a base before P21S carnauba wax |
