You didn't notice that that plastic assembly practically has instructions on it? Just unbolt it like a giant battery terminal.

Unbolt the strap, the nuts on the terminals, and the bolt that holds the battery. Then pull vertically...gotta muscle it up

Does anybody know if the Autozone 49-DL battery fits the E90 like it did E46?

If your car is still under warranty why don't you just have the dealer replace it? The battery's covered too...

Ah yeah! Why on earth would you purchase a new battery if your car is still under warranty?

I had mine replaced by the dealer a few months ago because it was not holding a charge. Turned out it had a bad cell.

Good question, I was wondering myself, I looked on autozones site and they list the 48-DL for the e90, same price as 49-DL. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this and if this is the best replacement, its about $90

Edit: Sorry didn't notice the differences in cranking amps, so I guess it would be nice to know if the 49-DL still fits the e90

So I replaced battery with 49-DL priced at $96, it seems just about the same length but just a hair longer making the fit extremely tight and I could barely get the foam piece in (I didnt bother with the screw that goes around the foam because the fitment is so tight. The 48-dl I'm sure would fit easily but is was just below specs of previous battery at 700 CCA and original was 720 CCA. A group 94R (H7) may be a better fit if you can get a deal on one and has more juice than the group 48. It seems to be about 1.5 inches shorter in length than the group 49.
