MHD flasher keeps failing, please help!

Hey guys, I've been trying to flash my 07 335i with msd81(built date 11/06) with MHD Flasher and every time I get the message "failed to write ecu. Unable to erase memory". I'm using the recommended cable and otg from bimmergeeks and have tried 3 different Android devices. I also have a cheap ebay cable and otg that I tried as well and I'm still getting the same failed message. Ignition is on, device in airplane mode, and I'm using a legit battery charger capable of 200a. The first couple of times I tried flashing with MHD I was using my cheap ebay stuff, so I bought new cable/otg from bimmergeeks and its still doing the same thing. I've spent around $200 for the licenses and cables and still can't get the thing tuned. What the hell am I doing wrong, anybody have any ideas?

you on android 7? you also in airplane mode? if you have a case, take the phone out of the case. sometimes the case prevents a complete usb connection.

which devices have you tried it on

S6 on 6.0.1, my wife's s6 active on 7, and my old g3 on 6.0.1

Neither phone was in a case, and all 3 were in airplane mode

Should usb debugging be on or off in developer options? My s6 and g3 are both rooted on aftermarket roms, but my wife's s6 active is stock

sorry my post from earlier didn't go through. i was able to flash it...on note 8, stock 7.1 rom, with developer options off on ebay kdcan cable at 85% charge.

are you at least at 80% battery? are you able to connect to the dme with the cable, such as reading codes using the app?

maybe try uninstalling and reinstall the app.

Yeah I was at about 95% battery. I can read codes and connect to the dme. I'll upload screenshot of the error I was getting

did you buy this car used? uhmmm you sure the car wasnt tuned before? i know cobb locks there tunes until you unmarry the dme from the cobb and its back to stock.

you try some of the older maps like version 6?

Car has an msd81, which I bought used. I'm pretty sure the car isn't tuned, but how can I tell if I don't know what they used to tune with?

Also have tried v6 and v8 as well

If the car is running, i would think mhd can log it and that would answer if it its tuned or not. Also read codes on mhd would help.

I can read codes all day with MHD, I get none. I'd hate to drop mode money for logging and still not have it work.

Yes, but after talking to the guy I got my Dme from and the vendor that did the sync I was told it wasn't right protected

I'll repeat what I said in your other posts on this subject:
The ebay seller is very likely just telling you whatever he thinks will get you off his back. Flash failing on multiple devices with "failed to write ecu. Unable to erase memory" certainly doesn't sound like an MHD problem, right?

What does it say under Misc. information
last flashed file...?

i believe only the late model e90 e92 n55 dmes were locked from the factory.

at this point i would contact mhd and see if they have any ideas.

seems like your cable works and you have a battery charger. if the batteries in healthy condition. no reason you should get a write error.

That wasn't during tuning, my charger holds a steady 13.7v when connected. That was after I did some things with ncsexpert to get rid of my tpms light and after the charger came off, I noticed the post above and then decided to check and see.
