FS: 335xi UUC short shifter
Has been in my car for 4 years, removed to install an RTD shifter. There is 1 tiny allen head bolt missing out of the 6 and you will need fresh grease for install. |

How did you like it? Did it really help with shifts?
Also, I know some people just recommend getting a bushing kit and replacing the bushings to tighten up the shifter. Would you recommend the bushing kit alongside this? |

I liked it a lot. Definitely didnt need to be swapped out for the RTD but I like to try new things. I know the xi is a bit different design than rwd so im not sure what bushings you would change. The UUC shifter basically gets rid of any plastic isolators/bushings and the stock dssr is a direct connection from the shifter to the transmission.

Its really not too bad since you can do everything from the top. I did it with a guy that had just put one in his car and the only tricky part is the clip on the DSSR. We used like fishing line tied to the clip in case we dropped it. Worked like a charm.

I know what you mean. Mine is covered as well. Once you pop the shifter out of its socket it gives you a little room to work. Either way not that difficult to lower the crossmember and get your hands in there which is what I had to do for the RTD shifter.

Dont think I have put enough miles on it yet to really say but initial thoughts are pretty good. I need to find a way to seal off the trans hole a little better since the OEM rubber boot has no chance in fitting. Everyone says to use an E36 shift boot which is a little easier to hack up and work with but still not a great seal by any means.
