Cited for tint window :(

I got cited for tint window today on the way to work.. the police was jsut being anal, he came up from behind with his bike, then flashed his lights to pull me over, ( somehow he could see my front side windows form the back already) real tough cop he was, probly thinking hes saving the world by citing me, usually the cops u run into are either real cool n friendly or real hardcore thinking they are Rambos, unfortunally i ran into an Rambo today, he even ask me how old i was, cuz i look pretty young and he was doubting that i could afford a nice car, while i wonder why dont he just read my fucking driver licience that hes holding up.....

By the way my car got broke in last week lol, with my walllet and cellphoen stolen, the police took finger prints off my car, they haven't even caught the outlaws, they are citing model citizens like me already , isn't hat ironic? makes me wanna sotp paying my taxes..

anyone got any good suggestions of dealing with a fix ticket? cuz this is the first time i got cited for tint window .. so if anyone got any good expricence would be helpful thank you...

What % tint do you have? Also...what is the limit in CA?

EDIT: just saw on your sig you have 15%. I take it that's below CA State law?

15% is pretty dark. I'm assuming you knew the laws before you tinted. Looks like you gambled and lost?

In CA..you can't have tinted windows in the front at all. And it's whatever you want in the rear windows and rear windshield.

OP......you have 2 choices...1. pay the $10 or whatever fix it ticket and remove the tint. Or 2. just pay the higher designated fee, usually around $100-200, and leave the tint on. The con to this method is that they can keep busting you over and over again, and the price keeps rising up.

dude. you scared me already. I just tinted last weekend. 5% back, 20% front, 70% front glass(after seeing the result, I should have done 50). I know the law here in AZ is 35% front, no limit on the back. but I am gambling here and I know if worse case. I just pay the ticket and leave the tint on.

Rx for Tinted Windows

This may be a repost. Get a prescription from a doctor for senstivity to intense sunlight...I believe its called photo dermatitis. Then you are permitted to have illegal tint.

find a member that has a car that's the same as yours, swap plates for a day and get a officer to sign off on it.

Bummer you got a ticket. 15% is pretty dark though. I went w/ 35% all around just because darker tint makes cornering at night difficult, and I hate that.

No one cares in AZ, the police understand its hot and sunny and the tint is necessary. I never have an issue and most people I know havent either.

I have only known 1 person to get a ticket for having like 10% tint but he got written up from multiple items from strait pipes to having a license plate anti photo radar cover. But I can assure you he was and is still a jackass and I am sure he showed no respect to the cop. (he was originally pulled over for speeding)

Hey AndrewAZ, where did you get your tint done? My car should be here early july and was shopping around for some quality places. Plan on going 20% all the way around.

Its your first ticket, pay the larger fine and be done.

Or if your feeling James Bond-ish, pay the cheap fine, leave em on, and if they catch you again after they'll just give another fix it ticket so

(If you wanna be a smart ass to the cop, tell him you perfer the privacy and keep the police report in your car of how someone broke in your car, tell em it happened twice!)

Apparently if your in the BMW car club its something they give to you as a perk... (probably some BS but I dont complain)
