Car on ramp red warning light.
Subject: Car on ramp red warning light.
I recently had the car serviced by my mechanic and I reset the service indicator myself as I have done before. Unfortunately I wasn’t in the oil service menu when I hit reset. I had hit the brake pads reset, even though these have not yet been changed. Now everytime I start the car I get the car on ramp red warning light and it stays on for a few seconds. When driving the small red warning light stays on. I took it to BMW who said as the car wasn’t serviced by them that they would not reset the lamp – even if I paid them! When they put the keyfob into the dealer machine, it tells them that the brake pads need changed in 359,000 miles??? Does anyone know how to fix this? I expect only BMW can do this. Probably I will take it to another dealer. I think the guy at this dealership was just being a dick.
