On a scale of One to Holy Christ, how loud is your exhaust setup with the headers, midpipe, and PE?

I can raise the dead - It's unbelievable unbearably loud at WOT. Get a different muffler and a good resonator.

This is what I was expecting I think I'm going to wait until I have another coupe to uncork my exhaust.

Ya? Your neighbors must hate you.

If my car was that noisy, my neighbors would burn my house down and murder my children for good measure.

Well, you heard it. How I normally drive, they can only hear it on cold start up. Now that I'm working from home, I really don't have a reason to start it up unless I'm going out to lunch or running an errand.

Cold starts are the best.

Can't wait to hear my N51 with secondary delete and PE. But I never planned, or plan, to run this car with zero cats. Probably way too raspy for my tastes.

Haha, hmm. Oh well, I doubt I'll mind. I'm used to pretty loud exhausts. I had what was supposed to be one of the louder cat-backs on my Z and loved it. Then I paired that with test pipes and it screamed (zero cats, one res and one muffler). I didn't mind the noise at all, though admittedly it sounded "better" with cats in place. Only ditched the test pipes because I definitely lost low end TQ without the cats (no tune). It was a little raspy but not awful. I'm hoping that keeping one pair of cats in place on this car will result in that perfect sweet spot of sound level and racy rasp (IMO, of course).

Vid for those curious:

Listen very closely at the end. I'll love this video forever LOL.

nice.

Yeah on my 328 I had a few exhaust setups

stock
PE exhaust
PE with Resonator Delete
Headers w/ resonator and PE

the last two were very loud--and droned :O

All this talk about too loud exhaust has me leaning away from doing anything with the heavy ass stock muffler. I think if anything I’ll do a secondary cat delete.

But I’m still wondering if anyone is running all stock exhaust with headers and a secondary delete? How bad is no cats?

I ran headers with a stock exhaust and it was quiet, I don’t think removing the secondaries will change that much.

The stock muffler is heavy and restrictive though, so if you do, just get something quiet.
