VANOS Question/help after new solenoids

Good evening-

Was having issues with my e92 coupe. It shut off a couple times while coming to a stop, and had a shake and whistle. I initially thought valve cover so I had it inspected and it was fine.

I did an oil change (5w-30 and Mann filter) around 7500-8000 miles. Pulled solenoids and check valves and cleaned. Prior to oil change was getting p0012. I bought new solenoids even though old operated fine but were throwing a code. Car runs good at speed but first start up I get a bit of a lopey idle that clears up. Any ideas? Car has 86k miles on it.

Thabks for any help! New to bmw and it’s a whole new animal for me.

Probably the camshaft position sensor. It is under the valve cover. Check the DIY section on how to change it.
