FYI, the BMW Performance Short Shift Lever fits the N54:

Thanks! Would this help in reducing in-gear side to side play as well? I know some aftermarket kits come with hardware as well.

I refreshed the stock bushings when I did mine, and that and the shorter throw did improve the play.

I'm not sure I buy into it, but I think you're referring to a DSSR like the one from UUC, you can buy that seperately from the SSKs:
