PE Mod on ONE Muffler? 2011 335xi e92
Hello all. So I have been immersing myself in all things e92 as of late and have a path I'd like to pursue with my vehicle. Not sure if anyone has attempted it though. Over the next few weeks I plan on installing the following:
-BMS Intake -JB4 -VRSF 3.5" Catless Downpipe Muffler is the kicker. I'd like to do the PE Mod, but only to the LEFT exhaust muffler, with the right muffler still having the stock perforated pipe. Reason being is I'd like the idea to control the valve on the fly without opening the trunk and also having a stock tone (via a system like the Exhaust Meister with garage door control) when driving under 3k RPMs. Questions: 1) Is this a good idea to pursue? I'm limited to exhaust options due to my vehicle being AWD (also having secondary cats), so this is really sounds like a better idea the more I think about it. Not to mention there would be a significant cost savings over buying an aftermarket exhaust. 2) Would there be any adverse issues to running a system like this? Perhaps harmonics would improve with the combining of PE Mod and stock mufflers lol? If anyone has any input or advice I'd love to hear it. Thanks PDR aka. ///BimmerPower on the old DTMpower forums Last edited by PDR; 01-31-2018 at 03:42 PM.. |

I guess it' be 80% louder.
You can always do the right side later if you find it not loud enough.

Very nice! I was planning on doing this also and that video confirmed it. It can be nice and quiet when cruising on the highway, but get some growl when you want to have some fun. Best of both worlds!
