Possible to retrofit folding and dimming mirrors?

Hello Guys...

Wanting to retrofit power folding mirrors to my car (I already have them along with the door buttons) but would like to know if wiring is needed?

I already have electric & memory seats if that helps...

Thanks!
JC

As this is the F30 forum and you list a M4 and X4 as your Drives, are you asking in the correct forum?

Otherwise, how is anyone to help not knowing what car you are talking about?

Model, Year, Blind Spot, Heat, Camera, Parking etc

Far too many unknowns to your vague question.

But bottom line, anything is possible.

Regardless, this is the basic wiring for exterior Driver and exterior Passenger mirrors.

Check the wire color coding with your car to see what is in place.

Hello IK!

Thanks for all the info, here goes:

Its a a bit complicated, I posted in the F30 forum because its where all the movement is...

I want to do a transplant from my 2015 M235i to a new 2018 M240i...

Old M235i has folding and dimming mirrors & lumbar support.

The new M240i has memory seats and only dimming mirror on one side... not sure which and of course no lumbar support.

Wonder how difficult would be a "transplant" from my old car to the new one.

Thanks!

Is the M235i a lease?

No... I own both cars outright.

The dealer gave me a great deal on the M240i that I couldn't refuse... but comes with normal non-adaptive leds and of course without the mirrors and lumbar support both which are important for me, but it has lane assist and other driver assist futures that the old one does not have, not sure what to think of them.

If you have the two cars sitting there, clearly you can use wiring from the donor as needed.

That’s the easy part.

Coding would be more difficult IN THIS INSTANCE (as you have both cars side by side). Coding for what you want really isn’t that complicated at all, but it appears from previous posts you really do not know that much about it and went looking for remote coders in the past.

They should have no issue coding that.

Yes I never figured out BMW coding but can do Ford and Audi very well... BMW is just too complicated for me.

So wiring looms should be different? I see that as the hard part since it might require to remove a lot of trim, or am I wrong?

Thanks IK!

Hard to say if they would be different or not.

You can use the diagram above to checklist the color coded and see what is there.
