Is there a need to change drain plug on every oil change?

I just received my oil change kit from getbmwparts.com but they dont apparently supply a drain plug and washer. My last kit from another vendor included it. Is it necessary to swap the plug and washer out on every oil change?

I've never heard of replacing the plug with a new one every time you do an oil change

The only reason you would change the plug is if it's stripped.

X Drive cars come with a metal drain plug - replace the crush washer. Others come with a plastic drain plug, and the oil filter usually comes with a replacement plastic plug.
