M3 Sedan 6MT vs M5 6MT

I just drove these two cars back to back and really LOVED the M3. I see no reason why anyone would buy on M5 for MORE money. except maybe if you need a larger back seat. other than that the M3 wins hands down in my book.

M5 does have more goodies. Heated steering wheel, ventilated seats, HUD, etc.

But, isn't that optional? Also, does anyone know if the night vision is an option on the M5? You can't build it on that way on bmwusa.com, but the website has been known to be wrong.

Mmmmmmmmm5.....

I still love that car. Just don't love SMG or a stick shift in a car so large.

I would imagine the M3 feels just about as fast with a much more nimble feel.....

The next gen M5 with at least 550hp should be a beast...but what do you expect from a V10 twin turbo!

There is an on / off switch for that

Theres a reason they call the M5 "The Beast" and nothing against M3 owners ( I have an E92 M3 personally ) but The M5 is in a class by itself.

No night vision available on the M5

Some of those options are reserved for the garden variety 5 series

M5 doesn't have the vent/bulge on the hood, and is much faster 3rd gear and up.

M5 is just simply amazing. I'd definitely take the M5 over the M3 sedan in a heartbeat.

i agree that i'd take the m5 if i was looking for a sedan too and I had the extra $$$. I think that these cars appeal to different buyers.

Although the M5 is pinnacle of the M series even I think 100 large after tax for a car is a bit much. I'm not poor by any means I just don't see the value of it when the M3 is 95% of the M5.
