Brake overhaul: proceed or buy M Performance BBK?

Did anyone move forward with buying M Performance brakes instead of paying for new pads, calipers and labor?

I bought a CPO 328i and upgraded to M kit voluntarily. What car do you have - I have the stock takeoffs from my car with barely any wear - calipers, pads and rotors.

Great question. I've wondered that myself, but usually you're only saving on pads for two wheels because fronts almost always get changed prior to the rears.

During the summer my pads were due. I'll always change rotors at the same time so I was in about $1k CDN. Jumped on eBay and found a full set of M Performance brakes for $1300 USD (which included rear rotors) shipped so I went for it.

This was my favourite mod next to converting my body from Luxury to M Sport.

I say go for it if you can find a good price on the set.

Here are some photos, 403's in the summer and 400's in the winter.

Sorry just trying to get more info and doing research, but I see you have your new calipers installed on the front and rear. I was wondering when installing the new calipers in the rear did you need to do anything for the parking brake? Or do the new 345x24 rotors work with the parking brake of the stock 300x20 size?

Thanks! I might just be looking too deep into this and confusing myself.

When your order your big brake conversion you need to specify two things:

1. Whether your car is X-Drive or RWD.

2. The year and model

Those two factors ultimately determine the assembly you have for the rear suspension and will get you the correct rotor size. In my case I used the X-Drive rotors and they cleared my handbrake fine. RWD rotors would have been too small and would have not fit over the handbrake assembly.

The front assembly in either case is the same.
