Alot of people have had this problem.......including myself. Its an annoying sound
The solution for me was the bolt holding the strut to the lower mount (also has a bracket that holds the cables to the brakes) This bolt should not be over tightened. It needs to be loosened to about 25lbtft with a torque wrench |

hi! thanks for the reply. really? so its not the upper control arm or upper ball joint? its the strut? the first thing i thought that a screw or something is not tightened enough, but you say it had to be loosened. hmmm. But did you encounter this problem from the start with standard springs or only after eibach springs mounted? the strange sound i mean. Both strut in the back both sides has to be loosened or only one side? the front struts front axle you didnt bother with it right? just the rear?

In all my older cars that were lowered when Ive had this noise it was one of 2 things... bolts not tight or 2 strut mount bearings needed to be replaced. Not sure if that helps but just trying to be helpful.

Check your top strut nut. Very common for it to back off. Use locktite to keep it secure...

Anybody find the solution for this?
I just installed the macht schnell springs and have a noise like this on the driver side front. It only happens when going slow and hitting sharp bumps. |

That sounds like a strut nut or swing arm link not torqued. Hopefully who ever did the install torqued the lower strut cradle correctly
