2012 328i Xdrive, throttle body question...
Hi everyone, I am new here and I believe I am posting in the right place. If no - I kindly ask the moderators move my post in the right place.
Now, here's the story. This September I bought a 2012 328i, and I was aware that there's stuff that has to be fixed about it, as I was given a good deal. And here's what I am working on now. The previous owner used to drive with some cold air intake that he never cleaned... At least that's what it looks like. Now, the throttle body is badly clogged, and I had a tech guy look into it. They say that there is no way to restore the OE throttle, and I need new one. I'm short of money at the moment, to tell you teh truth. So I consider either a non-OE throttle body for $100 (and I'm not sure it will be okay), or I will have to postpone the repairs for some time. Now, here's the question (maybe a sort of noob questions you keep receiving every day lol). In general, does it make sense to install a non-oe throttle body? Like this perhaps? Or it does not matter much? Because I've heared of those aftermarket sensors for BMWs that are of no good @ all. What about the throttle bodies - is that something worth trying...?
