VRSF cat-back exhaust questions

Hi folks,

Last night I installed the VRSF cat-back exhaust on my 2011 N55 335i sedan. I already had the VRSF catless DP and I had the goal of making the car a bit louder. My previous car was a Z4 M coupe with an RPI axle-back which was significantly loud, but not a big issue to daily. My goal with the E90 was to have something a notch or two less than that setup in the volume department.

To be honest I was a bit disappointed after driving it about 60 miles at this point. I feel like the car is barely louder than it was with the catless DP and stock exhaust, and it is only louder in the lower end below 4k rpm. Is there a significant break in period for these exhausts? If not, what are some louder options (besides straight pipes) that sound somewhat refined (no in-cabin vibrations).

Thanks!

Catless DP + PE exhaust (or PE mod) for outright loud and aggressive. But annoyingly droney and anti-social (IMO).
Add two Vibrant 1790 or 1792 resonators (either work) to filter out the rasp and tone it down to something more classy but still aggressive. This is my set up and I'm very happy with it.

I read multiple times that VRSF exhaust plus DP was louder than PE plus DP. Is that incorrect? I was going to go with PE but decided against it because of what I was told.

Seeing as you didn't notice a significant difference between VRSF and stock, the PE one is almost certainly louder, the difference is obvious (IMO). But maybe someone around here has heard both and can confirm

The exhaust will get a bit louder the more you drive it and break in the muffler.

As VRSF mentioned exhaust will get a louder.

VRSF exhaust is a mild daily driver option

Wish I could have saved you the hassle. I went through the exact same thing you did. Ended up selling mine after 30 miles. Went back to BMW PE. Never will switch again.

Interesting read. Very close to getting the PE mod done very soon. I guess this just confirms it. Now I'm guessing the sound between the actual PE and PE mod are similar? Or might say the heel with it and get Remus.
