30d availability
Looking at a G01 to replace my A6 TDI. It will be of the 6 cyl variety, but I’ve gotten mixed information regarding the availability of 30d in Canada. Are 6 cyl diesels coming? I’m sure I’d be content with a M40, but I’m also diesel torque addicted and 457 ft lbs has my attention.
Edit. Haven’t posted here in 9 years. My daughter (avatar pic) looks a lot different now.

I asked my CA about that. If the information given to dealer principals can be relied upon, we will see a hybrid version first. BMW is still evaluating the fallout of Dieselgate and the raid on BMW AG before they make concrete plans to bring new diesel models to the North American market.
With the full implementation of CETA, tariffs on EU produced cars will disappear and most importantly, Canada will accept EU standards (testing and safety). That means that a costly barrier will disappear. Canada will then accept both EU and US testing. That should, but does not necessarily mean more variety and less expensive automobiles. |

^ Thanks. I was unaware that CETA harmonized vehicle safety standards on top of tariff reduction.
