I want to change my plugs and coil before doing MHD 1. What spark plugs and ignition coil should I get? 2. What gapped on the plugs? 3. Where is the best place to buy? 4. What other things i need to check/replace before installing MhD Also,I’ll be doing Catless DP after installing MHD I appreciate any suggestions |

What would be the optimal gap for Stage 1+ 93Oct?

It doesn't matter. I went eldor because they were cheaper. Pretty sure NGK is also cheaper. I've been running them for over 40k miles with no issues. 30K maxed stock turbo, 10k PS2.

If they are old it is always good to replace for preventative maintenance

make sure you get the spark plugs from the dealer. they should have a BMW logo on them.
I bought the BOSCH ZR5TPP33S from a parts store and had misfire issues and felt like the car was kicking back. Went to dealer and bought the OEM plugs and problem solved. |

The ZR5TPP33S plugs are OEM plugs for the N55. You can use the Bosch ones as I've just changed my plugs two days ago and it runs super smooth.

OE and OEM in terms of plugs is a big deal. The bosch ZR5TPP33S plugs do not have to pass the BMW quality control tests for that part, and do not have the BMW logo on them. Quality of these parts can vary greatly - they can range between the exact same part as the one that's put on the car on the production line (but minus the BMW logo...), to something that wasn't good enough to pass quality control, so the manufacturer just sells them as OEM. I rather pay the extra $60 for a better piece of mind. Last edited by MTK24; 11-26-2017 at 12:26 PM.. |
