I think I read that there are two different valve stems... one for a stock setup, and one for aftermarket.
Also, I'm not sure that you need the valve cap on there. |

No. You don't need the adaptor:
Ditch the adaptor, line up the TPMS like shown, then screw in the oem stem. This way, the TPMS will sit almost flush/flat to the barrel in the little valley, while if mounted your way, it's susceptible to damage from a underinflated/flat tire.

IDK... Mine were a pain in the ass. I ended up using only 2 for the rears.... be careful when the tires are being mounted...

Mines are mounted with strapping kits.
(I don't use TPMS for my 07 Canadian car, but my iForges were bought slightly used from the US with tires and TPMS already on.)

Ditch the adaptor, you don't need it. The stem hole on your rim is on the angled portion of the barrell, exactly like it is on my rim.
The adaptor is made more for rims where the stem hole is drilled on the flat part of the barrell.

You need to use the mount otherwise the valve stem hits the caliper. Turn your adapter the other way so the sensor sits in the drop center.
Installation instructions located here http://www.tpmssolution.com/tpmsinstall.pdf |

If you mount it the way I showed you, your oem valvestem will not hit the brake caliper.
Those directions posted in that link are the same useless ones that iForged sends you. They "might" work, except the TPMS sensor shown in those photographs is not a BMW OEM TPMS sensor. The sensor shown is much smaller. Again guys, you only need the adaptor if the hole drilled for the stem is on the flat area of your rim barrell. Furthermore, you're using one less part than you have to or could, which is one less part that has the chance to fail. The bad thing is, you don't know where the hole's drilled until the rim arrives, and by then, you can't return the adaptor.

Explain why, because mine work fine without them? And please don't say "because iForged said I do."
When I called to get assistance, not even the iForged tech guy could explain why they're needed, and stated mounting the sensor as shown would be fine. Besides that, my friend's store that mounted/balanced them (who's been in business for almost 20 years and are also a Tire Rack authorized installer) said they aren't needed. The OEM stem without the adaptor: (1) Is the same size as the hole drilled in the rim barrel, (2) Does not allow leakage, (3) Allows the TPMS to sit flush to the rim barrel (4) Does not contact the brake caliper, and (5) Provides a more solid mount than using the adapter. Tell me why again they're needed?

Take out the adapter. Mount the oem valvestem to the TPMS sensor exactly how you did in your pic. Make sure each side of the rim barrel has a rubber grommet to seal it to the stem. You're done. Look at this pic from a different angle: The TPMS will lay almost flush to the rim barrel. Mount the stem to the TPMS exactly how you did when you originally used the adapter and line it up like this.

I guess it'll depend on which rim you purchased and, strangely enough, where iForged decides to drill the hole for the stem (which they told me is never in the same place )
