2008 335xi sedan springs question

Hi all,

Will regular non xi springs fit an XI ? They seem to be sitting lower ... I have new Bilstein shocks now with oem springs.

I the rwd fits the xi, I could use Eibach springs for rwd , as Eibach does not list springs for the xi...

Many thanks

check the suspension compatibility list in the sticky section of this forum. I used non-xi Eibach pro springs on my front

You're correct about the Eibach Pro PN's for the 335Xi, even in Germany. That's very interesting.

In North America we don't get the Xi springs, sadly. You have to get them from Germany or the UK.

What I did find is that they make them for a host of other cars, and the perches are all pretty much identical, so I think the key here is to match the torque output or front and rear corner weights of the vehicles as closely as possible and go from there. The XD's may be a close match as they make a ton of torque and are heavy up front.

If you know a good suspension shop that sets up these cars you could see if they have a chart of the corner weights on various cars.

I will note that the suspension geometry on the xDrive is different, so the rates likely accommodate that as well, so I'd look for an xDrive part over a non-xDrive part.

Full Saloon kits:

330 X drive - E10-20-014-08-22
330 XD - E10-20-014-09-22
335 D - E10-20-014-04-22
335i RWD - E10-20-014-04-22
335 X drive e91 - E10-20-014-11-22

Here's the 330XD vs 335i saloon front & rears. It would be interesting to know how to decode the part numbers.

330XD Front - F11-20-014-04-VA
330XD Rear - F11-20-014-05-HA

335i Front - F11-20-014-04-VA
335i Rear - F11-20-013-01-HA

335D Front - F11-20-014-04-VA
335D Rear - F11-20-013-01-HA

Now here's just the fronts on the xDrive e91 estate as another point of reference:

335xi - F11-20-014-04-VA
330xi - F11-20-013-02-VA

Maybe that's a clue as to how to decode these.. I'm feeling too lazy tonight

Any of those can be ordered from Germany or the UK. I got my e91 Pro springs from a German eBay seller who sold new in box sets. Luckily the e91 330X in Germany had a PN from Eibach. One thing you could do is call PSI in Sonoma and ask them about the PN decoding. They were our go to guys for the race car, and really know their stuff.
