Not a F30 question but

Looking to change my wife's car for a 120i, any one got any experience / owned one? Just after some honest feedback.

Cheers

My wife had 120d xdrive.

TBH, I really liked it for what she needed.

Any specific questions?

The 1l 1 series are really great handling cars, definitely far more fun in the corners than a 3 series!

I would really be tempted by one next, except the new 1 series will be out by then which will be a fwd platform, and that basically makes it an Audi!

Yes looks good in white, I definitely wouldn’t bother paying the extra £800 for metallic paint.

I bought a 120i for a friend of mine through my local dealer. She has had it for 12 months now and loves it.
I actually took it out for a short run this weekend and was surprised how good it feels. Actually made me think about going and looking at one myself. Albeit a 140....!😂

Can’t comment on petrol engine. But space was ok. I found the seats more comfy than in my car and was good to drive in manual.

Never missed a beat in the time we had it, so would recommend.

Here is her old one for sale......

When is the new model coming out?

Wondering if there will be any good deals on the M140 coming up?

On combination of town and motorway, she was getting average of 48. But this included slow commute each day!

my wife does lots of slow short runs so am hoping that the 120i or 120d realise at least low 30's.........

Get a petrol one then. Short runs & diesel really don't mix well

Low to mid 40s should be achievable. We had xdrive which probably takes mpg down a bit further.

I had a 120i sport manual , I quite liked it, my wife didn't. So it had to go. I got mid to late 30s mpg. Quite nippy but the offset driving position in manual format isn't ideal. Quite tight for space if it's for family transport. I had no reliability issues. Definitely a premium recommendable small hatch overall

Would definitely go auto over the mt. the 1.6t is a good little engine, most assume its a 2.0l with the 120i. Will dip into the 20s mpg with spirited driving.

Definitely not, tell her to plump for the 1.4 litre m140i rather than the 1.2 litre.

Definitely a better car share prospect for you
