First Post - A couple of questions

Hi, first post. Just sold my 2013 Audi S6 V8TT and picked up a 2014 435i Convertible with 17k miles. The S6 was a tremendous car, but didn't have the sports feel I'm used to. This is my fourth BMW and I keep coming back to the brand, I should learn my lessons. I've previously owned a 1995 325i sedan, an E60 M5 V10, and a 1999 M3 vert.

I've modded all my cars and will mod this one as well, but probably just slightly as I like it as it is out of the box with the M Sport package.

I've read about 30 pages of the forum already, but was wondering if you guys could help with two questions.

Spacers: I'd like to get the 19" M wheels closer to the fenders, I've read that 15mm is about right for front and rear. Is that correct?

Tune: Seems like N55 JB4 w/ OBDII is a popular choice. I've always used Dinan on my other BMWs, but this seems like a lot better value.

Thanks.

the default for stock suspension is 10mm front/12-15mm rear.

and yes, the jb4 tune will be much more bang for the buck.

Checkout Bootmod 3 instead of JB4.

I have the Stage 2 JB4 for my 3 series and i love it! Cant imagine its too much different for a 4 series.

I would read definitely read into any problems users have had with their tuning before you decide

For example: I've read a few posts about people blowing their engines because the EWG wasn't designed for the extra boost, and thus helped me decide on what tune to get. This example may only be for n20 engine though.

Just trying to be helpful. You're probably way ahead of me on that

Love the car BTW, its a beautiful combo

Nice car. As for tune--Dinan is pretty much irrelevant at this point. I have a JB4 and had one on my E90. Great value and makes a big difference. That being said, The BM3 route has gained a lot of popularity and may be the tune of the future. If I was starting from scratch I would seriously consider that, though it is a bigger investment.

Irrelevant unless you want to pay 300% more for the same increase in power with a false sense of 'warranty' security a la Dinan.. Yeah, JB4 is always good.

And really nice color combo interior/exterior OP

That's pretty much it. There are a couple of more obscure tunes out there, but based on my extensive forum experience 9 out of 10 people are happy with JB4.

Nice car and for the 435i here use Dinan for warranty (about two more years ). If your car is out of warranty, i'd suggest BM3 over JB-whatever. JB and Dinan are boxes, BM3 is.... different
