Intake Resonator Delete
Saw a video on YouTube of a guy who got his intake resonator swapped out for a part with no “silencer” on it.
Part costed him $60 thinking about swapping mine out because my car’s cabin is muted and I can’t hear my engine revving most times even with the window down. I’m already planning on getting a normal resonator delete removing it from my exhaust... just wanted to know what people thought of swapping out their intake resonator. |

It's simple, just pull off your intake and put on the Rev silicone intake tube. Clamps in place on the throttle body. I have the intake resonator sitting in a box in my garage. I did it when I put on my Euro intake. I think it's a nice combination, seems to breath a little more freely and make some audible difference.

There is also a cheap DIY option of cutting off the silencer and replacing it with a bottle cap. I've seen a post on it before, so you should be able to find it if you're looking for cheapest effective option. Bottle cap they used was perfect fitment, then they sealed it.
Also, I'd keep your resonator and delete your secondary cats instead. The oem resonator does a great job of reducing drone and rasp. Things you typically don't want in your exhaust setup.

For example, many have done the K&N filter, and charcoal filter delete, plus silencer removal, and still say it sounds great. However, when I installed a cone filter, which was definitely too large for the car, it did introduce drone. But when I went to a smaller cone filter (intended for this car) the drone is almost totally gone. Either way, I think air intake mods are a great way to get some nice sounds from the engine bay

I?ve done the intake resonator, the K&N drop in filter, and charcoal delete.
Drove it the next day and felt a noticeable difference (shifts were smoother and throttle response was better). But after work that same day I didn?t really notice it anymore and it felt the same before doing the modifications. |
