Fuel Injector

Had a CHECK ENGINE light on my 14' 328d Xdrive with 48k miles while on a road trip, that went out after a few days of light driving. Before the car went in for service, the light, of course, went out. Dealer trouble shot to a bad injector. Apparently, the injectors are on a "Special Watch" list, and the dealer needs special approval from the Mother Ship to get it replaced before they can even order parts. So now I wait, with a new 330i loaner.

I just had an injector replaced on my '17 328dx at 16.5k miles.

The code I got was "24BB00/Intermittent: Zero-quantity adaptation, injector, cylinder 1: permissible filtered activation duration correction too high." I used a Schwaben OBDII reader to pull the code before bringing it to the dealership.

Like you, it came on, then went off after a few days. When it came back on a second time I brought it in. My dealership had no problem replacing the injector though, and I didn't hear anything about needing special approval. I dropped the car off before work, and picked up the same day.

Strange I wonder what is different from my 14 to your 17?

You may have older version injectors and the dealer may want to change out all 4.

I'll find out exactly when I pick up the car tomorrow. 3 injectors were replaced.

Do you use any additives? Where do you fuel up?

I was using diesel kleen and Howe's every tank for the past 14k miles before the injector issue. There a bunch of different stations I fuel up at regularly, but they seem to get a decent amount of diesel traffic (good amount of box trucks and HD pickup work trucks).

No fuel additives. Just fuel from Pride and Cumberland Farms at high volume places. Kind of funny how BMW had them replace 3, not all 4.

^ This sun-forum is for N47 and N57 diesels. I'm surprised that your car overheated before any cluster or iDrive warning.
