Wanted - E90, E91

Hey fellow e9x'er
Any variant considered for a project with my very trusty mechanic.....
He is very competent with the mechanical side, so maybe looking for a car that is very tired and needing a new lease, any out there?

I'm based in NW London near Wembley.

Thanks

E91 335D. Some little issues but nothing major. Drives we'll, I do motorway driving all week and it cruises up and down for thousands of miles without an issue.

The ad is on here, 153k on it

Looking to shift quickly as I have a new car on order.

£5995 or nearest offer!

Hi James,
Thanks for the offer but my mechanic is a bit nervous with this one due to the high cost of potential turbos and the Auto box at this mileage, but definitely the best engine variant otherwise!
Good luck with the sale.

Interesting post, in a similar vein to a few previous threads. One is looking for a vehicle and garners many replies / offers, with no positive outcome.

Anyway, enjoy the free bump from me and point your friend in the direction of:

Maybe be more specific in what you are looking for. You have turned down cars for high mileage, the wrong engine, being a manual, etc.. Why now name your ideal model, range of years old and price band?

Yep agreed, we can use the below as a guideline:

-E90 or 91 still stands, ideally and e90 though,
-petrol or diesel but 6 pot
-57 plate onwards
-Auto, and most likely will be high mileage so maybe one with a box that needs attention, but reflective in the price
-needing other mechanical attention,
and hence, around the 4k budget, or is this a big ask?

Thanks

Yeh I agree, that's where and why we are asking for one that needs a lot of mechanical work done, and to personalise at the same time

I would have thought regardless of your friend being a mechanic and willing to do alot of work, you might end up paying more for seperate parts that would need replacing than buying one that's mechanically sound that may need minor work done

The idea is/ was to do up a project car with other mods too, so it is totally personal, and far from needing a daily reliable runner, as I have another car, not to mention commute by tube into work!
I guess I'll delete this post, and keep a look out in the usual places, cheers all!!
