e93 receiver cup issue - anyone else noticed this? is it wrong or right?

So I was doing my origami top maintenance per the sticky on bimmerfest and noticed that the two receiver cups in the trunk for the top are different, one is empty and the other had a metal piece in it. Am I missing something or is this normal? My guess is that no one has ever noticed this... Attached Images
