Volkswagen mic Combox

Hi, does anyone know if Volkswagen mic will work on BMW Combox?

Hard to say but my bet is it would. Combox harness has 3 wires for mic. If that one has 3 wires it will probably work.

It looks like it only has 2 wires.. Do you know what function the third wire has? it says blnc/shield on the pin/wiring diagram?
