Hey so I've been looking around on the internet, and I came across Carly. It's a OBD insert Adapter. You download an app (45-50$ish) and you connect it with your phone via wifi. You can Program your car, check for faults, etc. it's pretty cool and I'm interested, just wounding what y'all think about it.

Pretty useful tool for scanning fault codes and some basic coding. Other features like battery registration are behind paywalls though

Anyone with a BMW should have that app. It's such a good app. Definitely recommend it.

You can find the Carly pro app online and just use a kdcan cable.

Got a link? I've got a K-DCAN from the previous owner but have yet to hook up INPA or any sort of software that I can code with.

I also have it and yeah it great. You can see shadow bmw codes and do light coding like halos for drl's, auto fold mirrors on locking, auto up windows, lots of other things.

iCarsoft i910 $80 or Fowxwell NT510 $139 is better than iCarly or Bavtech. Both do battery registration at no additional charge, brake piston retraction, and pretty much everything dealers can do.

No idea why people still bother with iCarly or BavTech.

Have to agree. I bought iCarly but they forced me to shell out $60 for their version of an OBD adapter, then a year later they did it again. The 510 is a semi-professional piece of gear, very impressed.

DanTheBMWMan Told you many times to get the Foxwell NT510 already....iCarly & Bavtech cost more and are definitely not as convenient.

Not to sound silly, but can it code for the LCI tail light upgrade? Meaning remove the error codes after install?

I looked up the Fowxwell, and it seems like it only allows you to reset the Battery install date not fully register it and definitely not code to a slightly larger one?

Problem connecting to ECUs

I have the BMWhat (Carly) Pro app on my iPhone and use an ELM327 adapter. I have only used it to find and clear faults. It works perfectly on my 2006 E90 325xi. The adapter connects to the iPhone via WiFi and then sets up the vehicle ECUs and faults are read.

On my E88 128i, the adapter connects to the iPhone but can not talk to the vehicle ECUs. The dial just keeps spinning and eventually times out. It then shuts the app down. When I first got this adapter, lt took some tries before the E88 ECUs finally responded. Now I am unable to get my E88 ECUs to respond and set up.

Anyone have any ideas?
