Inlet install...... Nightmare
I purchased the relocated inlets from VRSF. Thought I would get it since everyone seems to love them so much. It's worth a shot. I'm FBO and have done everything myself. Figured it wouldn't be that bad....... boy was I wrong.
It starts off with the lack of directions. The VRSF directions are basically useless. They explain simple things like taking undertray and intake manifold off but have no details whatsoever on the more difficult parts. It also made things unnecessarily difficult. They said to take the Downpipes off and take out the subframe. I wasted time and starting taking both off them realized and didn't even need to. Why even put that in there? Just to make things more complicated? How could a company sell something as complicated as this without clear instructions!? Checked out other directions but those were shorty at best. I contacted local shops but all of them refused to do it and wouldn't even give me a price. They said that they didn't want to get into the project. Incompetent mechanics I guess, whatever. I'm 4 days in and ready to just give up. The car is in a bunch of pieces and there's coolant all over my garage floor. I didn't think something could be this bad. These inlets better be a gift from the turbo gods for all this work.... If anyone is thinking about doing inlets on their 335i, stop and think. Are you ready to buy a kit that doesn't have all the pieces you need? Are you ready to rip apart your car with horrendous directions? Are you ready to hate your car once you can't figure out how to put this kit together? If you are, look no further! Get the VRSF relocated inlets! I have other VRSF products and those were fine to put in. Looks like this will be my last purchase from VRSF as I can't deal with this again. Help.....

Thanks for that link. Actually helped a little bit. To anyone that has already done inlets. Do you keep that pcv elbow with the metal and wire in it? In the instructions all I see is hoses and a brass 90 degree elbow.
