Bodyshop Manchester

Needing a repair after an unfortunate scrape with a low wall whilst on holiday in Croatia - taking it to BMW tomorrow but wondering if this is the best option / any recommendations for alternatives ?

I have used Rochdale Panelcare a couple of times and have been very happy with the quality of their work. Very reasonable prices to boot.

Depends where you are but Ben at Autofinesse comes highly recommended from me. He's Cheshire based though

Bmw will always say that.
Could be wrong and please correct me here but I'm pretty sure they always replace not repair.
I would look for another body shop to repair that because new door and sill is an expensive route to take.

Agree my dad had similar damage on his silver c class, lots of silly quotes £1800 upwards got it done for £200 in the end, looks perfect

The sill is just a bolt on plastic moulding. Looks like a fair bit of metal has creased and stretched in the door skin so panel beating would still need a nasty amount of filler.

As a guide a new door and welded on sill panel on our SEAT Leon cost £1450 at Rochdale PanelCare a couple of years ago. Budget slightly more for BMW parts prices and inflation.

If your excess is low and you have a healthy NCB then it makes sense to claim. Our £1450 own fault claim didn't impact our renewal premium significantly.

Been quoted £350 based on being able to find 2nd hand silver door - advised if I take it to BM for new door etc it will be a full re-spray on near side panels - thinking the second hand door to be the better option.
