I suspect this is true for LED but not sure, but putting HID in halogen reflectors is illegal and blinding to oncoming traffic. Usually you'd need to retrofit projectors first before going the HID (and possibly LED) route.

No you dont, oem halogen bulb use H7, if you direct swap it with a led h7 it will work.
