Headlights for my 2009 323i

Hi All,

Recently bought a BMW (I have attached a picture) and this morning I had a warning in my dash for the lights. Looks like my low beams are out? I just wanted to make sure of couple of things -

1. Are those the low beams?
2. Are they HID or Halogens (they look like halogens but want a second opinion).
3. I researched a bit and looks like I need a H7 light bulb (please correct me if I'm wrong). Please recommend any good products that I should install. I could also get them from Amazon if I can't find them in stores here. I'm in Calgary, Canada and I looked up the shops around my place and the most popular ones are the SYLVANIA brand.

I called around the mechanic shops and I was quoted installed price of $240 for HID (if I have HID) or $120 for halogen. Of course the dealership quoted a $100 more than above. I watched some videos on DIY and I think I can do it myself and save some money. I can follow instructions pretty good but do let me know if taking this to a mechanic would be a better idea.

Thanks for you help and btw love my BMW.

Those are halogen headlights. Should be a straightforward process, I think headlight changes are even in the user manual. Definitely DIY first, unless it ends up being more than a burned out bulb.

Buy two h7s for $50 total and replace them yourself.

Phillips, Sylvainia, OE all good. Don't get above 4000k heat category
