Black Wheels --> Polished Silver

I currently have black wheels with a machined lip.....is it possible to "paint" them polished silver?

How much should something like that cost?

If so, any recommendations in the socal area?

- TIA

What kind of wheels do you have? If they are 2 or 3 pc, they can remove the rivets and just re do the face. Yes it's possible. They will fix the face of blemishes if any, dip in acid to strip the current paint, and re paint to a different color.

If you have a 1 pc wheel, you will probably have to get the whole thing painted.

The whole thing should run $500-800 from my personal experience if you have 2 or 3 pc wheels.

Thanks man....it's a one piece wheel, I'll look into painting it most likely.

A lot of places don't guarantee the finished quality of painting the face of a 1 pc wheel because they would have to mask off the lip and avoid the area.

Just do the whole thing silver, dood!

Just to throw it in..the argument of painting and powdercoating...

powercoating is good because it will be more prone to chipping. It's bad because since you have to deal with heat, it can weaken the structure of the wheels, especially if the wheels are forged.

painting is good because it doesn't weaken the wheels. It's bad because the paint won't adhere as well as powdercoating and will chip easier when rocks and such hit it.

That makes sense....I'll probably end up painting them since I don't plan on keeping them for that long.
