335is exhaust tips

Do they need to be cut off or can they be hit off?

The black part is a sleeve that slides over and is spot welded to the exhaust tip. I used a dremel to cut the spot welds after I had the tips cut off and replaced. I don't think you can bang them off without destroying the tips in the process.

I tried banging for a bit but it didn't do anything. Do you know where the spot weld is located?

There's three or four, evenly spaced, around the inner lip. I would guess the only way to see them is to either cut the tips off or drop it down enough to see the back of the tips.

I guess I'll just have to cut through the stock tips to see what is underneath. Thanks for the tips!
