Dealer Visit for CEL PPK And ALPINA erased
Hey Guys,
Anyone have their PPK and Aplina flashed stashed at the dealer when having a CEL turned off. So my car has had a evap code for like three weeks ( had to wait for a apt) they had the car two days didn't fix it because the warranty company did not call them back I need the car this weekend for trip ( didn't want the loaner) got in the car and the BMW software was gone

This is probably due to the mirror switch set on the passenger side mirror. Move it back to the driver side and it will work again.

Actually, if it wasn't a factory installed option, I wouldn't broadcast to the dealership that it was installed. Was the PPK either factory/dealership installed ?

To be honest it doesn't matter if my dealer installed it or not, If my car with in with PPK and Alinpa coded to the car it should have left with it and the DME shouldn't have been updated to fix a evap code. And by the way I had told my SA the car was coded with PPK and Alpina

Assuming they attempted a firmware update to fix your CEL issue since their software detected an update (since your car didn't have PPK or Alpina from factory). That will most likely always happen if a module is in question as to whether it's part of your issue(s).
The auto dip is most likely due to the tech changing to the mirror selector switch to the passenger side. I don't really know why they do this, but I got my car back like that every time from the dealer. |

Thanx guys, I'm guessing they say the same as what Turbod said. So I guess my next questions is if the tech could not see mu Alpina and the PPK flash on the car, how would they see MHD?
Thank you Joe and Turbod that was the exact issue with the auto dip

If you took your car in for a blown engine and they suspect a tune, then they can dig through the files stored on the DME to determine if it was indeed flashed/tuned. When they updated your DME this last time, the MHD tune should have been wiped out as well. |

I had this happen to me. I just considered it a lost cause since it wasn't installed by them or an authorized retailer of the PPK. I miss the exhaust burbles.
