MOTUL Sport 5W40
Anyone here run this in their S63TU? This is a full ester based Synthetic and should well outperform that BMW uses from factory for our M Cars.
Just hit 44k and sent my oil out for Black Stone Oil Analysis. Depending on what the report comes back with might use this at next oil change. |

How long do you keep your car?
In South Florida - I do think a 5W-40 is good choice. But I am also a believer in OCI at 5-6K miles. Motul is a great brand. If out of warranty I would choose Redline's thick 5W-30 or possibly the 5W-40 depending on your type of driving.
. I have the N55 in my M235i and choose PP EURO 5W-40 and leaning toward RL 5W-30 post due to the all ester -- which as you know is superior in handling the heat. . If you plan on keeping the car less than 100k then simply follow BMW standard intervals with any LL-01 oil. . |

Buy 9 QTS
8.5 liters or 9 qts with some debate - but I am sure you can put in 8.5 liters and check the level. Some just put in 9 liters and call it a day.

Thicker oil noticed less consumption. I can only assume with 10W60 the consumption will be non existent lol

I have used it in my F10 M5 and i truly believe it is a very good oil. Only limitation here, that this oil is not a long-life type oil and depend on usage on road, the maxmimum oil change intervall, which i suggest is 8.000 km. If tracked heavily, than might be maximum 2.000 - 3.000 km. Oil analyses can prove the longetivity of change intervall anyway. Motul 300V 0w40 is also a very good oil, in my F13 M6 i am using BMW M Performance 0w40 il (aka SHell Pureplus) with 10.000 km change interval. If you can effort the more frequent oil change intervall (5k - 8k than 10 or 12k), than Motul 300V is a fantastic oil to choose. |

This is a perfect topic. I'm out of warranty too and I'm using:
Liqui Moly 2332 LEICHTLAUF High Tech 5 W - 40 There are some different versions of this, but I'm open to other options. |
