Canadian M3's in Winter?

Are you guys planning on driving your E92's and E90's during our beautiful winter's? My M-DCT with 18's (after market 19's for summer) is supposed to arrive end of July and I've already begun the search for winter tires. Currently, all that's avail. are Mich. Alpines, not a big fan, hoping blizzaks or something comp. comes before the snow flies. Just curious or are all you fellow Canucks keeping the new toys only for summer. Is using this thing as a daily driver all year round nuts?

Year round!There are other snows besides the Michelins in 18's.Gislaved has a 245/40 18 available.These were highly recommended to me.

I will certainly be driving in the winter. I will set the car up with a set of 18s with winter tires and drive when it is nice. Most of the winter in Alberta the roads are bare dry.

My local tire dealer in Richmond Hill can get them,but I think that any dealer that get Continentials can get these as they are owned by Continential.They had them in stock in March and as I was sick and tired of the "winter that would not leave",I was almost to the point of putting the snows on so I could drive my new M.

Get the Dunlop SP Sport 3D winter tires. They are the best! and I'm sure every one else will agree with me too

I would recommend Dunlop tires as well, but the Dunlop Wintersport M3...excellent tread, longevity, and high speed driving (low noise, no vibration). Had them for 3 years when I had my e46 M3, sold them to a friend who has used them for two seasons, and he still has half his tread life left.

Excellent tire.

Dumb question, can you put 17" winters on an M3 (or would it just look stooopid)? My winter tires will likely need replacing by the time I get an M3 but was just wondering. Are 18" winters getting easier to find?

I had 17s on my E46 M3 - not sure about the E92 - I think I remember reading that recommended winters on the E92 M3 is 18s. The 17s with Dunlop Wintersport M3s worked really well but did look a little stooopid!

I have a set of the Dunlop Wintersport M3's for my GTI (for when I lived in Pittsburgh), and the car is a TANK in the winter. Great tires. Maybe not as hardcore as blizzaks or studdeds, but for a sporty car they're a perfect match.

I will be driving mine for the winter, will see how this winter goes and decide what I am going to do for the next one. I got free 18" winter rims and tire package from my BMW dealer worth $4200 for my M so I was pretty pumped about that, lots of money saved there!

What dealership did you go to? bavaria or Edmonton? Thats an awesome deal...Id like to know..

AMJ what kind or 18s and tires is the dealer providing. I am planning on picking up 18 rims and tires for my 08 m3. I have had experience with aftermarket and was not happy.

Went to Bavaria. My tires and rims are not in yet, they are a "BMW approved" set up with BMW rims but I am waiting to see what tires BMW Canada are going to put on. For the price, I am pretty sure they are going to be a good setup. I will let you guys know exactly what the setup is when they arrive.

I'll be driving mine this winter for sure. Some good snow tires, taking it easy on the corners, brake early, you'll be fine.
