Rear diffuser/exhaust tip combo

Looking for some help with a nice look for rear bumper. I have AW e92 335 with m-sport package (so dark gray rear diffuser with chrome exhaust tips). I've made some minor changes to include more gloss black to match the shadowline window trim that comes with the m-sport (gloss black kidneys, gloss black badge, etc.)

Wondering if anyone has done any vinyl wrap or plastidip on the rear diffuser to go matte or gloss black. Or even AW. Also, these exhaust tips are the only chrome remaining, and need to go. Not getting new exhaust anytime soon but thinking black chrome tips with gloss black diffuser may get lost.

Would love see any nice pics you guys have.

chenry - very nice! Do the cyba tips slide over oem or did you have to cut the oems off? Also, what did you do with that narrow piece on the top part of the diffuser in between the tips? Painted that as well or left as is?

That looks awesome. Just the look I am going for. What did you pay to have the diffuser painted? Debating paint vs plastidip+glossifier route...

Plastidip+glossifier will never get you that gloss like paint. Plastidip came out with a newer product called Autoflex that resembles factory like paint. But judging by how much it cost, its probably better to just get a bodyshop to paint it gloss black for you.

Starting to think you guys are right about having it painted. Now if only I could find a set of used exhaust tips to save the price diff. $150ish for exhaust tips...yeesh

I think it would look more aggressive if the diffuser is painted body color like 335is. Personal opinion only

I went with the rustoleum paint from Home Depot. I've had it on my car for two years and it still looks great. Also, just spend the money and get tips from Cyba because they are great quality as well. You should be able to install the tips for about $50.

Thanks. Going AW is def an idea. I think I really like chenry's look. I have the gloss black window trim, kidneys, badge, and soon exhaust tips, so I think it will work well with what I have so far. Maybe the move is plasti-dip black as a trial, then get it painted afterwards once the look settles on me.

sorry for the late response - Ive been slumming over on other forums - for my 2-cents I would simply have it painted gloss black vs plasti-dip / its been my experience over the years (more than I care to admit) that gloss black is an easy color for body shops to paint, they typically have it on hand so turn around is quick and price is low - relativity speaking.

While I appreciate the 335is color matched look - to my eyes I like the gloss black better especially on light colored cars...but that's just me - to each their own :-)
