Radar Detector

For you guys in MD/DC/VA, I know that radar detectors are illegal in VA and DC . Just wondering if you guys use any, and if so which do you recommend.

I've think that the Bel STi is the only radar detector that's undetectable to cops. Therefore, it's the only choice in VA. Anyone else correct me if I'm wrong.

Valentine 1 is also undetectable and can remote all primary functions to a less noticeable location

V1 is definitely DETECTABLE with the new Spectres check out www.radardetector.net for more information. Bel STI is a must if you live in VA its the only undetectable one currently.

False. V1 is completely detectable. There is no reason to use a V1 in the state of Va unless you don't care about getting pulled over for such a stupid reason. BEL STi is the only way to go in VA. It is an exceptional detector.

just as a fyi, no radar detector is completely undetectable. Heres one scenario a unmarked cruiser uses to detect radar detector users.

This police unmarked cruiser, unknown to you will be cruising along with the traffic. He would turn on his radar, and would observe those would would suddenly hit brakes or decelerate speed.
Thats one old trick out of the hat.

I think all M3 owners should be exempt from speeding tickets!!! Let's take it to Congress.

Unless you use the cruise control stick to pull it towards you two notches so that it slows you down in 5mph increments WITHOUT using your brakes.......

Have a Valentine 1... Only use it when I am traveling out of the DC Metro area.

In my opinion the best investment. Have had it for 10 years, and just send it back for free code/software updates. One problem with it in that time... Shipped it out, they fixed it (no charge) and sent it back within a week.

Installers?

Anyone have a recommendation on someone who can install a STi so it isn't visible? In Va. they will take them from you and give you a ticket.
