So who has had their baby M damaged?
I've been daily driving mine for the last month and a half. Have about 3200 miles on her now.
I park it at work, in a far away area where there is usually nobody around. Well lucky me. One guy that works with us, backs up with a old classic car and hits my bumper. While it was parked. No worries(I work in collision repair. It's an easy fix), so I'm getting ready to fix it today.. but than I cleaned her last night, and saw that someone hit the back bumper again... on the side this time! Anyone else have this stuff happen to them?! Or am I the only lucky one!😳 |

Not in my current M2 (knock on wood), but in my Acura RSX, I once parked at a supermarket to get a tub of ice cream for my gf. Parked behind a pickup with a trailer hitch and my brain said "don't park here", but I told myself I would be in and out.
I was in there 10 minutes tops, came back out and there was a hole about the size of an apple in my front bumper. |

My m5 got lightly swiped a few times. No notes left either. I always park as far away from other cars as possible. Also avoid shopping cart corrals too.

Only thing so far, dealer scraped passenger front wheel on their lift and had to replace with a brand new one. Got an extra wheel out of it!

I got home in my 135i one day and noticed a dent in my rear bumper. I had parked at 3 places that day, but I'm fairly certain I know which place that happened. I guess they hit me hard enough to cause an expensive bit of damage.
About 4 months later I'm behind some other cars at a stop light. The light turns green, but a car ahead was apparently stalled. The guy behind me just saw green and started moving so he ran into my rear bumper. Hit it so hard it bent in the bottom of the trunk so it wouldn't latch. The trunk would stay closed with friction from the latch against back of the trunk, but I hit a decent dip in the road once or twice before getting it fixed that caused the trunk to pop open. At least that guys insurance eventually paid the bill for that one (though it took my insurance company strongarming them to do it). |

It's impossible to keep any car nice surrounded by people who don't pay attention when they drive/park or just don't care about damage to their own car let alone someone else's. The more you try to steer clear of other cars the more damage just finds you.

My M2 got a little dent on the first day thanks to my girlfriend lol. I found another little dent on my quarter panel right above the skirt, only visible when car is washed and you go looking for it in the sunlight. Knock on wood, that's it for now lol. Oh forgot to mention, a rock chip on quarter panel which I touched up with dr.colorchip.

Yesterday, I parked (parallel), a motorcycle parked right behind me, and then a car with two women right behind him. All within a minute.
As I got out of the car, I watched a guy in an older SUV come straight at the car with the ladies in it. I froze - I was in the street, he was going to hit them at 30mph, they would go into the bike, and then maybe they were headed into my car or me. At the last minute, the guy woke up and swerved out of the way - he came to a stop next to me with his head in his hands. I talked to him in the Starbucks a few minutes later. Said he just looked away for a second and could not believe how close he came to hurting so many people. It happens that fast. At the end of the day, if our cars are hit, they are fixable - it is when we are hurt that everything changes.
