Disable steering wheel buttons (cruise control)

Last time I drove the car on track I accidently pressed the cruise control button which made the car go to comfort mode or something.
Is there any way to disable this function without taking the contact off the buttons?

regards Tobias

Stange. On my car if you only switch cruise on, it won't change drive mode. You have to further engage it by setting the cruise speed, only then it will switch into sport or comfort.
